  • We'd like to thank all the great people who raised money for Dalit children and the "What Will You Do For Freedom?" campaign. Whatever you chose to do — from cutting your hair, to exercising, to collecting change — you changed lives this spring. Your energy, enthusiasm and empathy for the Dalits is truly inspiring.

Over the last 60 days, supporters raised over $11,000 — sending 37 Dalit children back to school. As a community, DFN suporters gave enough to send 233 children back to school this year, and 143 next year.

Thank you so much for empowering Dalit boys and girls to escape enslavement and dream of another life.

The "What Will You Do For Freedom?" campaign has officially ended! Thanks to everyone for your unbelievable support and dedication. Over the past 60 days, here’s what you did by the numbers:

11 people chose to fundraise for freedom. They cut their hair, did squats, sold pictures and so much more. Their energy, enthusiasm and empathy for the Dalits is inspiring.

283 people gave for freedom. Online, through the mail and over the phone you gave generously.

$113,000 was raised over the 60 days (including the match).

    Most importantly...

376 Dalit children will receive the education they deserve: 233 this year, and 143 next year.

1 big THANK YOU from everyone at Dalit Freedom Network and on behalf of our friends and partners in India. You did something very special for freedom and we can’t thank you enough.

In the last 2 months, generous supporters like you have sent 186 unsponsored children back to school for another year. Thank you so much for being part of their journey to freedom!

The "What Will You Do For Freedom?" campaign ends today, which means: For one more day only, every dollar you give for Dalit students will be matched to double your reach.

Your gift will fund a Dalit child's educational costs — helping them complete another full year of school, and move towards a future free from enslavement. Please help us to reach 200 students funded!

  • The Dalits are the world’s largest group of enslaved people: 250 million men, women and children facing discrimination, segregation, and enforced poverty. The only way to end this history of slavery is by giving Dalit children access to education.

Dalit students enrolled at Good Shepherd Schools learn how to read and write, but even more importantly, their education allows them to dream of another life, a new destiny for Dalits!

By supporting the "What Will You Do For Freedom?" campaign, you can give Dalit boys and girls the freedom to become who they want to be.

Each donation will be matched until May 31 and provides tuition, books, uniforms, desks, and lunches! Learn more at whatwillyoudoforfreedom.net.
