Part of the Dalits quest is their desire to embrace a religious ideology allowing them freedom of conscience and giving them a full sense of individual worth. Though most originally chose Buddhism, thousands of Dalits across the nation now realize their best option for full religious freedom is Jesus. Many Dalits have expressed a deep desire to know the love and experience the equality offered only by the Living God.
